He did not reveal the name of the shooter but Manager Online reported that the gunman was Pol Cpl Hassapol Soprakhon, attached to Batu Tamong police station. Most victims were police attached to Batu Tamong police station in Bannang Sata district. The dead officers were identified as Pol Capt Natthawat Churat, 39, deputy crime suppression chief at Batu Tamong police station, and Pol Snr Sgt Maj Sayant Phettem, 44. According to a police investigation, local police and their families were enjoying the party when the gunman suddenly sprayed bullets from a war weapon at them.
